Instant volume and matte texture in a collector's tin

Skull Dust is Uppercut Deluxe's Styling Powder in a limited-edition collector's tin, with original skeleton artwork by printmaker Jim Madison, known as Print Destroyer. The formula inside is the same lightweight, unscented powder: shaken onto dry hair, it gives instant lift at the roots, grip and a natural matte finish. The hold is flexible and builds with each extra shake, and the style can be reworked with the fingers during the day. Uppercut suggests it for any hair type, and it works best on short to medium lengths and on fine or thinning hair that needs volume. Five ingredients, including silica and a VP/VA copolymer, keep it light. Wash it out with shampoo.

1. Make sure the hair is completely dry before you start.
2. Shake a small amount of powder directly onto the roots, working section by section.
3. Rake through with your fingertips, pushing and pinching the hair into shape to bring out texture.
4. Add more powder for extra hold, then wash out with shampoo when you are done.

1. Wash and blow-dry the hair, lifting the roots with your fingers or a brush.
2. Shake Skull Dust onto the roots in light layers.
3. Push, pinch and twist the hair into shape with your fingertips.
4. Rework the style during the day and wash the powder out with shampoo at night.
